Today's Sports Predictions MLB · NBA Starting Lineups & Matchup Data
Direct answer: Each game's win probability is estimated from starting lineups, recent offense/defense form, home/away splits and betting-line data; probability is not a guarantee — check the data cutoff time, model version and any last-minute changes that could overturn the call.

Every pick is locked before kickoff and settled game-by-game afterward; hit rate is based on the actual settled sample on the full track record page. The free group syncs MLB/NBA and current football matches — please read the data methodology and risk limits before joining.
EdgePicks is a pre-game probability analysis site that compiles MLB, NBA and football matches from starting lineups, recent form, home/away splits and betting-line data, and preserves publish times and post-game results for line-by-line verification.
Do I have to pay to use EdgePicks predictions?
Daily win-probability predictions are all free and public. Only the high-confidence "elite picks" are members-only content, unlockable via a free 7-day trial.
Can the hit rate be verified?
Yes. All predictions are locked before kickoff, and hits/misses are published game-by-game on the track record page; also check the settled sample size, statistical period and results broken down by league.
Can I bet on the EdgePicks site?
No. EdgePicks only provides match analysis and win-probability predictions, does not accept any form of betting, and none of the content constitutes betting advice. Please gamble responsibly and within your means; those under 18 must not participate in gambling.
What's the difference between "win probability" and "point spread"?
Win probability answers "which team is more likely to win," while the point spread answers "by how many points do they need to win to cover." The two often lead to opposite conclusions: a strong team with a 70% win probability, when giving up an 8-point spread, may have less than a 50% chance of covering. This site publishes win probability for every game, not spread advice — read the two separately.
Why does every game show a "data cutoff time"?
Because starting lineups can change. MLB starting pitchers are often announced only a day before the game, and NBA injury status may not be confirmed until an hour before tip-off — changes after the cutoff time aren't reflected in an already-locked prediction. When you see a prediction, first check how far its data cutoff time is from kickoff before deciding how much weight to give it.
How many games does the hit rate need before it shows real skill?
Ten games is too few. Even a pure coin-flip 50% hit rate has roughly a 1-in-1,000 chance of hitting ten in a row, and over a season of several hundred games, a streak like that isn't unusual. To judge whether a prediction source is reliable, look at the settled sample size, the statistical period, and whether results are consistent across different leagues — the smaller the sample, the bigger the role luck plays.
